Can you name any LSU Tigers that went undrafted and still managed to have a solid career in the NFL?

La’El Collins went undrafted and signed with the Cowboys and has had a very productive career.

I think Russell Shepard is a free agent right now, but he has been in it the league for 7 years or so and has had a decent career considering he was basically an afterthought after his college career.

Oh you meant like a guy who wasn’t projected to be a top 3 round pick. He really got screwed over in that whole deal.

I can’t remember many to be honest. I know this. We have some that just signed UDFA deals that have potential to start in the league.

Randall Gay was another one who played for about 7 years and had a lot of success. He won the starting job his rookie season, led NE in tackles in the Super Bowl that same year and won Super Bowls with NE and the Saints.

The Broncos had a running back years ago from LSU but I don’t remember him doing much while at LSU so I doubt he got drafted. I don’t even think he started for us but, was the starter in Denver for a while I think.

Does anyone remember his name? Probably in the 80s maybe. I can’t think of his name for shite.

It's been a few years so I can't remember but I think Alfred Blue was undrafted.

La’el although it was completely different circumstances. Ryan Clark was I believe. Russell Sheppard has cut out a nice career as a special teamer, as will Derrick Dillion I believe

Yes, thank you. That was driving me nuts

ETA: I looked it up. I forgot there were 200 rounds in the draft back then. He was indeed drafted in the 11th round despite his best season at LSU being 241 yds rushing.

Cornerback is the hardest position to play, I am very impressed he is still in the league

Might be thinking of Jesse Myles, running back from H L Bourgeois. Played at LSU from 1979-1982. Was on Denver roster in 1983 and 1984. He is deceased. Died in 2010.
