But this is how the plants get you. They hire you on and within two years they got you by the balls. Making over 100k, get the new truck, the new house, the high maintenance/keep up with the jones' lil wifey and you're done. Then she spits out a couple kids and the plant grip gets tighter on your nutsack.
What they don't tell you is the toll the shift work will take on you and your family as you age. Believe me, there's a reason plant jobs pay so much. Did it 32 years and was lucky to get out at 50. It was not a hard decision after my kids were out of my pocket and they merged with another company while taking away our retirement insurance I was counting on at 55. I try to talk people out of doing it more than anything. Big sacrifices.

Deleted like 2 pages of drunk Wednesday stories.

Most of the plant workers I know are the salt of the earth. Many over extend themselves bc they don’t have the financial education or discipline to handle the paycheck.

Live beneath your means is true for all classes.
