Including the stimulus and unemployment, many people who were barely working before are receiving almost 4 thousand dollars in gov money this month. What type of message does this send? Good luck trying to get people back to work when they are going to make considerably more than if they were to go back to working 12 hours a week.

If you were making less than $22.50 an hour in my state you would be getting less than the Fed.gov check + unemployment

If I was working fast food I would have mass laid off myself (can't "quit") the second the $600 was announced.

Considering 30 million+ are filing for unemployment I would say that choice was made for them, those who hate welfare and "hand outs" shouldn't be getting benefits at all. "Pick yourself up by your bootstraps and quit crying"

a guy that works for us just requested to have his hours cut more than they already were.
because as of now, he makes too much to file for the unemployment.
but the unemployment amount is more than he makes now.

said he's willing to still work the same number of hours, just to have his paperwork show he works few enough to qualify.

Ok so the choice was made for them, does rewarding them more for continuing to not work or seek employment make sense? And does it make sense that a person not even working full time can suddenly receive almost 4 thousand a month from the government? Is it right tax payer money is doing this?

I agree no benefits, when you get fired you're on your own, don't mooch off the government or be a societal parasitic leech is what we are always told.

I have a friend that was an oilfield salesman in Houston that was laid off a couple weeks ago.

He told me today he’s getting $1,100 a week between Texas unemployment and federal money.
