About DeWine’s leanings.

The last question to DeWine at the press conference today was about talk among Ohio Republican state representatives that DeWine is slow walking opening the state to harm President Trump's re-election chances in Ohio. DeWine's response, just listen to what President Trump said yesterday about him and Ohio, how the decisions that have been made saved lives.

What wasn't said:"Are you kidding me? President Trump has done a fantastic job during the first three and a half years on behalf of America, notwithstanding unprecedented opposition from Democrats and federal government bureaucrats. We had a great economy. There is no one else who can bring us back like President Trump will. I support President Donald J. Trump 100%. "

Remember John kasich is a never Trumper, didn’t attend the republican convention in Cleveland in 2016, even though John ‘s dad was a mailman if you didn’t know that about him. Anyway, DeWine is no different. This is political. Never again Mikey.

Thank God for Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Texas, and other states who will show the way out of this fiasco.

Was also very disappointed in his conference today. After saying on Friday that they were working through the weekend to roll out a detailed plan, it’s now Tue and you can feel the rollback. In an hour press conference, all we got was a “hope” to “maybe” allow limited reopening of hospitals by May 1. Places of business (I.e offices) would follow and then retail. No plan on barber shops. Too “high risk”. Only thing he was certain of was there will be NO large gathering including concerts and sporting event until at least the fall.

He was the Senator that ended up losing to Sherrod Brown and now even though Ohio is pretty red they can't get rid of the guy

Bad seat to have lost

Dewine has been talking about a plan for reopening for over a week now, but he hasn’t revealed shite about it.

Pretty obvious that he's stalling.
The pressure will make him buckle soon.
Someone needs to ask the good doctor about the models, and not let her off the hook.

I totally agree. There is no room for anyone that is not a cheerleader, ever, anywhere.

Yep. I would love to be able to present this question to the good doctor Acton. On March 12, she predicted that there were "probably" up to 100,000 cases in Ohio based on the fact that there was community spread. Apparently, medical community assumes that for there to be community spread there must be at least 1% infection rate. A couple of days later she said that "if we do nothing", infections would double every 6 days. By now, that would mean over 6M cases in Ohio. So, since we didn't "do nothing" and instead "flattened the curve", let's just assume there are only 1M cases now. By the way, this is about 10% of the total Ohio population which is consistent with infection rates on the Diamond Princess and USS Roosevelt (only real instances were we have full population data). With today's Ohio cumulative death toll of 557, it would mean the true mortality rate is 557/1,000,000 = 0.06%. Roughly equivalent to the flu. Instead of asking why we are willing to tank the economy over this rate, today she says we need to be prepared to endure continuing control measures for at least the next 18 months.

I was protesting at the Ohio Statehouse Monday. Dewine and Acton are both worthless. I’d bet money by the 27th or so they will be doubling down and extending the shutdown.

You know damn good and well, if Ohio State cannot take the field with a stadium full of people, he knows his arse is gone.

and they'll hide behind the suspect data showing increasing deaths since April 14th. From mid-March through April 12th, deaths showed a normal distribution with an average of 10 - 12 deaths per day and peak of 26 on April 8th. The peak appeared to have been reached and deaths were trending down. Then on April 14th, deaths jumped to a new peak of 50 and have averaged around 30 per day since despite entering week 5 of quarantine. What changed? On April 10th, DeWine & Acton instructed hospitals to begin including "presumed" Covid deaths in addition to confirmed. That action will cost us 2 - 3 weeks of additional lockdown.

Let's add the citizens of Meridian, Idaho to the list. The civil disobedience of the young mom's with babies on their hips was inspiring.
