I think maybe all this pain might be worth it in the long run if it gets manufacturing of medications and PPE ‘s back in the US or at least in North America.It’s insane that we have outsourced these important items to an ideological enemy.
Another thing that needs to be looked at are the expiration dates applied to PPE’s.I remember our unit throwing away large quantities of gowns away because of the expiration dates on the packages,these were non-sterile gowns sealed in plastic in a climate controlled room.I felt like it was a scam perpetrated on medical facilities by Cardinal Health which seems to be the largest supplier of these type of items.
I also wondered about the expiration dates of some sterile items such as cotton tipped swabs,they are in well sealed packages also in climate controlled areas.How would the sterility be comprimised if they were stored in proper manner.I remember we had to throw away a lot of them once.
