The biggest factor for academic outcomes is going to be the quality/values of parents. The whole area has one of the lowest crime rates in the Houston metro area, so that helps provide a good learning environment for all area schools. But when looking for elementary and middle schools, also look for areas that do not have apartments zoned to the schools.

The apartment thing will be unavoidable for high school. Either KW HS will still provide a good quality education.

Be aware that the Catholic School does not have the resources to provide the specialized assistance that the public schools do.

The majority of the areas that flooded are areas that were visibly mapped to flood plains. So for long term planning, just move to an area that didn’t flood. This is very easy to do.
