The episode was supposed to be a backdoor ( ) pilot for a series which Garr and Robert Lansing would have led.

Gary Seven (Lansing's character) would have been a human raised by very powerful aliens in the future and posted to the Earth in the mid-20th century to carry out various "James Bond" type operations. Garr would have played his secretary.

I don't fully get that, either. Now, some things I still hold to - like Jane Fonda, but otherwise, there would be nothing to watch and nothing to listen to if you excluded brain dead, progressive actors and musicians.
