While I've already witnessed deaths of hospice patients with various terminal diagnoses, who also happen to be COVID-poz but not symptomatic of fevers or respiratory distress, their deaths are chalked up to COVID.
Fed funding ($13,000 for a patient with COVID diagnosis vs $700 non-COVID/terminal diagnosis via Medicare) is likely the reason for the COVID-Umbrella reporting.
However, outside of an autopsy, there's no way to prove which diagnosis or comorbidity a 90 y/o patient died of their brain cancer, their kidney failure or COVID.
