Did he really shoot off his hand?
Yes. I don't remember the year but during a Saints halftime show there were two old cannons in the South end zone, one in each corner. I don't remember how many times they fired. It could have been once but I'm pretty sure it was when reloading the second time that the western gun fired before the guy with the ramrod was finished and the ramrod (with this guy's hand and part of his lower arm attached to it) flew to about the opposing twenty-five yard line.
Everybody was in disbelief. Like "Did that really just happen?"
