Overall, yes, we are spending a lot less. A lot of the places that we go as a family are closed right now and we're being mindful just in case me or my wife loses our job.
So, both 1 and 3 are in play for me. Just in general, not having to go to the office saves a lot of money. No gas, parking or eating out on a daily basis. Probably spending $200 per week alone less just because of that.
We're also doing our grocery shopping online, which means its easier to shop against a budget and we don't make any impulse purchases.
Kids are also not playing sports right now, so no eating out while we're driving all over the place for that.
The daycare not charging $300 a week right now has also lightened the load a good bit.
Long story short, outside of other factors, this type of living makes it really easy to not spend money.
