So I wanted to test the waters on this. My friend gave me a fluid trainer to use and I ordered a Wahoo Speed and Cadence Sensor. I understand that this is the least sophisticated way to use zwift, but didn't want to drop a bunch of money and not like it. I did an initial ride and I don't feel like it is gathering information correctly.
What are typical rpms? I was spinning fast and it was saying my RPM range was in the 60's. I was making about 14mph on the flats, which in real life i usually make about 18 on flats (I average almost 14mph on my Single Speed Gravel Bike). Do I have the trainer set up wrong or are there any tips to make this more realistic? I appreciated the workout I got, but I would prefer to not get constantly dropped.
Average Power was 89 with a high of 139.
Average Cadence was 60 with a high of 70.
Eta. Figured.it out. Recalibrated sensors. Put 100psi in tire and selected the right trainer.
