Europe. There weren’t a lot of women around but there were some and the locals loved them some Americans.

Plus it was likely less brutal fighting.

Europe all day. Had one grandfather there and he romanticized the war and don’t think they saw all that much comparatively. Another grandfather was a marine Sargent in the pacific and he never said much but we can piece together he went through an absolute hellish experience as only like 6-7 of his original company from 42’ came back unscathed. Just absolute meat grinder over there against an enemy that would never surrender. I’m fascinated by ww2 and wish my marine grandfather wouldn’t have died before I could find out more.
