The long-haired manager at Journey’s that looked like Howard Stern. He was always there and made sure you left with a cool Journey’s sticker.
What are some of your Cortana memories?

Space port. My parents used to drop me and my friends off for hours with a little money when we were 10-11 years old.

Around 1988 there was a place that sold fresh bread by the slice. Absolutely delicious.

Was the name of the music store circa 1988?

I remember that guy too. I used to buy all of my shoes at that Journeys.

BR in the '80s was a place you never wanted to leave

This was true.....I went to stay with my cousin for a week every summer and it was awesome.
It is what originally got the bug in me to go to LSU even when I was 8-12 yrs old. Regrettably by the time I made it to LSU BR wasn't nearly as cool....BUT was a lot better than it is now

There were a few bad neighborhoods but they were easily avoidable.

Blackened cheeseburger @ Drusilla Seafood near one of the mall entrances.

Space Port, Spenser's, Record Bar, Piccadilly, Mama Bravo's, Todd Garland, Cortana Cinema, Orange Julius,etc..
Forget the parachute pants, and I'm not so sure the racing stripe looks good on a Dad bod, but Sun Britches are making a comeback..

People are overly dramatic on here about BR imo. The vast majority of the southern half of the city is nice.
The thing that is different is that in the 80s much of the northern half was nice too.
