I own a cleaning service, so I did buy a bunch of supplies b/c I knew people would run for them once they realized they could kill the virus by simply cleaning their home. I need them for my business and did not want to turn away work b/c I was out. Luckily, I purchased a month supply, and once we locked down I had tons.
In addition, I stocked up on food, because I realized at some point, people might not want me in their home for fear of contagion and I would be out a bit of income. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine they would lock us down and make it impossible for some people to work.
Luckily, it's served me well. I really don't need food, so I am avoiding the craziness at the grocery stores, and I don't have a lot of money so I am happy-- at least I won't go hungry.
When I was getting prepared my husband was very upset with me for buying enough food for two months. When he went to Walmart and saw it cleaned out, he came home and thanked me for thinking ahead.
