best way to learn photoshop...

play with it and just mess around?
read a manual???
have someone who knows it, show you how to use it?
any tips or pointers? I need to start learning the program for work

i know LSUS has a continuing education class for 75 bucks ...2 hours 2 days a week for 6 weeks i think ... i think i am going to take it next time they offer it

Youtube some tutorials and read some tutorials online. Other than that, trial and error is the best way IMO. Unless you want to spend some time and money to take a class on it.

i just taught myself and asked people like jgg, godfather, nc tigah ect.. for tips.

I guess it all depends on your preferred learning style-Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, &/or Tactile.
I've never taken a computer class in my life. I learned the most from tooling around with it and reading a couple free, on-line tutorials. Practically every day, I learn something new and useful.
Whatever way you go about learning, be sure to have lots of patience.

not really. honestly Godfather taught me most of the basics

The Adobe website has a Community area called Adobe Exchange that has some good PS resources. Adobe Exchange
