Internet of Things continues to implode. IFTTT losing support for ebay search notificatin

So comcast buys stringify and shuts it down then IFTTT slowly gets rid of the few things they do right such as bots you can connect to the craigslist and ebay APIs to give you a jump on a product searches.

The DIY scene is doing just fine. I actually love it every time a commercial cloud offering shuts down because that's just more motivation for DIY.
The future of IoT is full local control with open source and/or commodity hardware and open source software. Cloud services should also be open source and containerized to run on any infrastructure.
We give for-profit entities too much control and too much data. When the revenue runs dry, they have no choice but to shut things down.
