I've already got the doorbell, thinking of replacing my defunct Brinks system with the Ring. We're doing some painting of the walls in our downtime working from home, and I already removed the fire/smoke detector and the siren. Next step will be the control pad in the hallway, and probably the motion in the living room. I just need a few door sensors, and maybe the floodlight camera too. The floodlight up there now is busted and needs replaced anyways. Does anything need hardwired or are they all using batteries? I get decent life out of the doorbell battery. Installed it after Christmas and I had to charge it for the first time in early March.

It's all battery , but you can get a hardwired adaptor to connect to your existing gsystem for $200.00

The base station and signal extender stays plugged into an outlet. The keypad panel is rechargeable with a micro USB but only needs charging once per year or something.

I have recommended it here before.
I have it at my office, house and camp. Can do or see a multitude of things from one app.
