It's not what he did, it's how he did it. I completely sympathize with those sailors as I've been there and done that. I don't think there is anything worse than 70+ straight days at sea onboard a submarine. Been there. Done that.

However, he allegedly circumvented the chain of command and leaked this memo to the press. He didn't trust the system and he publicly revealed that one of our most important assets in the Pacific is down with the plague.
