This is a sequel I don't understand, just because that magic from the first game was in isolation of that story.
The world/universe created isn't something I care to revisit, if is generic in most ways.
However, i'm interested to see where they try to go with this one.
Edt: Sometimes stories should end, sequels aren't required. I'm a huge Half-Life fan, but as time goes on I don't want a HL3. Ending the HL2:E2 with Eli's death is the perfect ending to the HL series. The ending leaves you with the feeling of hopelessness and despair, alone again without a straight forward solution. It encapsulates the feeling of that series.

Guarantee you would’ve said that about God of War at the conclusion of III as well.
Depends on whether they have a new and fresh story to tell.

Maybe, like I said, interested to see where they take it. But how about give us a new world/universe, not some story told in the same generic universe they created with the first one.
I loved the first game, but never wanted a sequel.

I see where you’re coming from though. IIRC it’s just some random girl and a guy traveling in a wasteland; what important narrative drive is there after the first one?
Something like I Am Legend made sense since he was a scientist looking for a cure, same thing with WWZ.

The fact that the universe was so generic and they were able to craft a story that was meaningful keeps me interested in the sequel. Imo thats what Naughty Dog excels at is writing and developing characters that I care about. Its what kept me playing Uncharted all these years.
