Evem though he lied about not leaving LSU and misled the media and fans he still played a big role in the uprising of the LSU program. The reason I'm saying this is because I saw a bumper sticker today that said... "SABAN is a douche". Do you hate little Nickie and think that he's a Massengil douche?

I am very greatful for what he did to the LSU football program. Do I think he is a "good guy"? No. Do I think he is a bit unethical? Yes I do. But, I don't really hold a grudge with him. (The Dolphins being my NFL team out of the AFC, he has done it to me twice FWIW)

I don't hate Saban.
I appreciate all he did for us.
...But seriously, he is a douche.

i'm not mad that he left LSU for the NFL. who wouldn't have made that move. he is the reason we're where we are now. it all started with him. but the reason i dislike him now, is that he went to BAMA. and the way he lied about leaving the dolphins was very wrong.

Not trying to turn this into a big thing or anything, but our team is better under Miles then it was under Saban. Miles is the best I have seen at getting assistants. Our offensive coaching staff is unreal IMO. I'm hoping the Defensive staff turns out to be the same.

and miles has done more with saban's players than saban did with saban's players. just in case someone wants to throw in the saban players crap. miles hasn't given us a 8-4 season or a bowl loss yet.

He will make them great again. Probably beat us a time or two before he leaves there. He will leave for greener pasture though. I don't know who the Hell will pay him more the Bama will though.

Great coach, but total douche. I thought he was a douche while he was here, but we were winning games so it didn't really bother me.

I don't want him back, but I might clap for him when he takes the field this year. He put LSU football back on the map.

I honestly thing that Les Miles is a average below average coach who just got lucky and fell into a good situation at LSU. IMO Saban is alot better of a coach.

I dont hate Saban, I appreciate what he did here during his time. He established a great recruiting trend for top Louisiana athletes to stay in state. But he is at a rival school now, and we are having more success under Les Miles.

But I do agree with the original poster, Saban should not be hated.

We'll see. Miles and Saban have completley different styles of coaching. Miles gives tons of freedom to his assistant coaches. But Miles has to keep hiring top notch assistants (so far so good) and Saban is a control freak and has to control every little aspect.

Saban would have never got coaches like Crowton, Studds, or even Pellini to come to LSU. You have to look at Miles total package to understand what he brings to the table.

As far as a gameday coach, I think Saban is much better than Les Miles. Also, I much prefer a defensive minded head coach over an offensive minded guy.
