No, they're not.

Large swaths of the country are relatively untouched by this and will remain relatively untouched by this. They should stay closed for months or years? THAT is some bullshite, right there. Not what Trump is saying.

People wanting to keep things closed to hurt his re-election changes

Well, the Dems kind of do want to milk this for absolutely as much damage as they inflict on him. That's 100% accurate.

Of course the virus is real. So is influenza. The vaccine for the flu is sometimes extremely ineffective. I hate to rehash it for you, but we lose 60k to 80k in really bad flu seasons - yet we do not shut down a $20T economy when it happens.

We did virtually nothing in 2009 when 12k died from H1N1 (we did develop a vaccine for down the line).

The panic here is far more dangerous than this actual virus.

Great. Glad you're on the team.

I feel like he is making these empty statements knowing that either way it makes no difference other than to help his approval rating.

Your feelings don't really matter to me, Trump, or really anyone outside your family. I "feel" this statement calls into question your status as a Trump supporter, though.

What matters is results. The measures are working. We are defeating the virus. We are developing the resources to keep the hospitals from being overrun.

We cannot burn the village to save it.
