Well kind of..... I work in an ER laboratory and before this outbreak was confirmed we were admitting maybe 6 people a week for sepsis protocol and or pneumonia. This is very high for us as usually only maybe 1 or 2 a week.

Hundreds of flu and streps negative this year before the confirmed outbreak, all with similar symptoms. Nothing on respiratory panels we sent out except for some common colds occasionally. It was just very weird.
We did have a huge outbreak in November and December of flu B, then flipped to A around Christmas but still a lot of negatives.

Last years flu season 90% of testing was positive for A and this year I have never seen as many negative tests for these same flu like symptoms.

Take it for what it is worth. Some could be blamed on how the specimen is collected and how early people are coming in to get tested. You can have symptoms and have the flu but come in so fast the test cannot pick it up.

Trust me, I just spiked a fever an hour ago and now I rush to ER is so normal it is insane.

i'm of the opinion my wife, son and I had it in mid december. I woke up one morning feeling as if a bag of sand had been poured down my throat.. Felt way off. Ran fever and hacked my lungs out for 5 days. I never went to the doctor and treated myself with over the counter meds.
