Dakota? When I heard the name, I thought Manieri had gotten a baseball commit.

This is one kid that I would say should definitely go up in the rankings. I believe they are behind on their scouring of him.

I guarantee he’s heavier than 170. Looks thick in his video.
Me too. I wonder how old his profile is.

Can't help but be excited about this guy when I think about where he is now and where he can be further along in his development.
His physical maturation really stands out going from his Sophomore highlights to his Junior highlights. Looks to be about 15-20lbs heavier, maybe an inch taller, and probably a step faster too.
You can get a better feel for him at Safety in his Sophomore year highlights but get a better feel for the level of athlete he is right now in his Junior highlights.
hudl - Soph highlights
hudl - Junior highlights
Great athlete, very good ball skills, loves contact, very good speed (seems to have an extra gear when he needs it), smooth backpedal and hip-flips the couple of times shown in his highlights.
When tackling he leads with the shoulder pads for the big hit but does keep his head up. And brings his arms with him to wrap up 99% of the time which is rare now-a-days for most HS and even college db's. Aims for the midsection which is good.
Could just as easily stick to RB exclusively and be a highly recruited P5 prospect at the position. I think his skill set is too versatile as a Safety and he's not even close to being a finished product.

You’re right, this guy is an impressive form tackler. He goes in with his head up and almost always wraps up.
