I don't live in a rural area. Where I live, these layoffs include managerial staff and salespeople of corporate event meetings, lighting/sound engineers for concerts etc etc etc. . .

It's not only wait staff at the Waffle House, so, yes, many who do own or are buying homes/expensive condos.

How much it affects the market I do not know but it does make your "who's getting laid off" comment seem a bit uninformed.
