Didn’t read but did the info on the ACEs have anything to do with the chemical makeup of the drug itself, the metabolites, inhibiting ACE itself, or is it something with the effects of the drugs it doesn’t like? Or do they just not know much right now?

Nobody really knows. Until there are clinical tests.
Right now it’s just tenuous observations that it seems to help.
