The more cases you add without impacting the fatalities, the lower the mortality goes.

According to WoM which has the best stats for country level data.
Out of most of the developed world, the US mortality rate is the lowest. Keep in mind that mortality is a function of testing, the more testing we do, the lower the mortality rate will go.
I filtered the countries to not show any country with less than 50K cases.
