Exactly. This whole thing was made up and all the people in this thread fell for it because they wanted to believe it was true. Nothing was said about abortion until the White House mentioned it. This thread should be whacked as fake news.

Nah. Even from a lefty site (Vox, Salon, NBC, take your pick), the Republicans put in the Hyde Amendment so that testing money wouldn't go to abortion clinics. There is no reason that anyone needs to go to an abortion provider to get free CV testing (since Trump has already promised to provide free testing).

If the health of the country vis-a-vis coronavirus is truly the priority, why should the dems care that the money isn't going to abortion clinics?

The dems are also holding up the funding because they want to force employers to pay for emergency paid sick days and emergency paid leave while refusing to approve the payroll tax deduction. Instead of forcing employers to pay more money, wouldn't it just make more sense to let employers and employees keep more of their own money? That is because democrats don't want to give up any of the money they steal from working Americans. They would rather force employers to spend more money instead of the government taking less from them.

Like always though, Republicans acquiesced so that the populace can get quick relief. The soulless dems would let America suffer for months before they gave up an opportunity to send taxpayer money to babykillers.
