I was about 45 and was convinced that I had cancer of the anus. Your best bet is to go and get you some generic miralax and take it before bed every day for the rest of your life.

Had them surgically removed in 2017 at age 42. It was SO much fun.
They didn't really bother me too much until my late 30s. As someone earlier said, see the doctor sooner than later. I have three of them surgically removed and the only thing I've ever experienced that hurt worse was a crushed disk in my back that pinched my sciatic nerve between L4 & L5, but even that was only really agonizing when I wasn't laying flat. There's no escaping the pain from incisions on your a-hole and you still have to shite afterwards. Plus, there are other complications that result from the surgery that don't bear mentioning.
