Supposedly Nantz and Romo have become good friends out of the booth. ESPN is offering so much money because it’s going to take a lot to break up the Natnz-Romo team. Romo doesn’t want to leave CBS, but everyone has a price.

I don't know, Romo already made a ton of money over the course of his career (cursory Google search says ~$125M not counting endorsements).

Dan Patrick also had the point about how he'd steer clear of ESPN if he were Romo due to the workload and number of commitments they dump onto you given their enormous volume of shows and need for content.

ESPN may indeed be willing to throw crazy money at Romo, but it'll come with strings attached, which include spots on different shows and commitments across the enterprise, whereas with CBS you're calling a game and playing golf the rest of the time.

It just depends on how much he enjoys what he's doing. I get a lot of assignments, but I love my work so it doesn't bother me. Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life.
