There are several states that dont allow hunting on Sunday's. Some just on public land, some for all hunting. The laws were put in place to try and encourage church attendance. Now, the argument to keep them in place is often that public lands are not just for hunting so the hunt free Sunday's allow for safe hiking and other recreation.

I know about the hunting regulations in some states for Sunday. This ultimately is about a slapdick complaining he can’t buy booze before noon on Sunday.
