Imusa .9 quart grease pot with a homemade fancy feast stove. Fosters DIY cup for coffee. Coozies diy out of reflectix for both.
I go stoveless more and more on trips now. Just don’t feel like taking the time to hydrate meals.

Trail runners tend to be more popular than boots. Dry out quicker and less weight on your feet.
Jet boil but I also don’t cook as much as many hikers. There are plenty of opportunities to resupply. Having things sent got to be a hassle getting into town when the post office was open or waiting on it to open before you left. I did tortillas and seasoned tuna, cheese and crackers, bagels with peanut butter. I carried protein powder because I had a hard time getting enough protein.
My goal was 10 x 10. When the days started getting longer I’d be up at first light and wanted to get in 10 miles by 10 am. I’d usually have a bagel with peanut butter about a mile or two in. That left the rest of the day to play, read, explore, etc and I’d still get in another 6-8 miles easily. If I wanted to push on I could do that as well. It also had me getting my miles in before it got too hot. I piddle with photography so the early morning light was better. I also saw more wildlife (and I cleared the spider webs for the other hikers).
