The problem with DIY guttering is you don't have the access to the forming machines that form the gutters on site to the proper lengths. You head to Home Depot or Lowes and you can get aluminum gutters, but only in 10 ft. lengths and that means a lot of seams that need to be sealed properly.
Like already mentioned, the gutters will need to be sloped toward the downspouts to work properly. Every seam and connection will need to be sealed so no leaks can occur.
It's not something a DIY person can't do, but one that is best left to the pros for a much cleaner and proper installation.
