I had a 2011 Land Rover LR4 Metropolis Limited edition. We traded it in last April with about 110k miles on it. Honestly, hands down it was the most reliable vehicle we've had. Prior to Land Rover, we owned Infiniti, Jeep, and Mercedes. We did not experience any major costly issues. Sure, basic maintenance is more expensive and any other repairs, but I found it was cheaper to do proactive/preventive maintenance. I would definitely recommend an extended warranty. I had one thru Louisiana Dealer Services with a $50 deductible. I always found the LR dealership had a good working relationship with LDS and everything always went smoothly. The worst thing about the Land Rover was gas mileage sucked...12 mpg in city and maybe 15 on hwy.
