Not an attorney, but so I'm told (and read): If you can PROVE fault, such as adultery, the one at fault can not demand/collect alimony.

Obviously, this could be a big chunk to paying monthly just so he/she can maintain the lifestyle that you afforded her.

But PROVING adultery is not easy. Supposedly has to be more than circumstantial.

another interesting fact. If you have kids she can’t move more than 50 miles away from the house you and her were raising your kids without your permission as long as she hasn’t already established a permanent (not renting) new residence.

In other words fill the divorce paperwork before she establishes a new residence and she can’t move farther than 50 miles from the last permanent residence that you were living in with the children.
