I've heard stories about some of the top players doing this, not sure who pays (pretty certain it is the players).

But this does bring up a good point for the next CBA, make the league take out some sort of injury insurance for players participating.
If a player was injured during the combine, it must be reported to medical staff that week. Payout will be based on projected draft range, with player agreeing, compared to actual draft spot.
