Border Patrol Council President: We Want Cartels to Go Underground

Everyone knows walls work. It’s common sense.

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” on Friday that building a border wall forces drug cartels to dig underground tunnels, which is what the Border Patrol wants them to do, because it affects the cartels’ profits and the Border Patrol’s Intelligence Unit can go after them. Judd said the border wall, which is being built right now, has already shown to be effective along a 58-mile stretch of border that he patrolled. We’ve already added 100 miles of replacement wall. This is a new wall system that helps us secure the border better. I like to go back to my time in Arizona. I worked a 58-mile stretch of border. We didn’t have any infrastructure there. We didn’t have any border barriers there, and we were arresting over 100,000 people in this one small area a year,” he said.

“We started building walls, and those arrests have not dropped down to 10,000 a year. Physical barriers in strategic locations, they absolutely work, The proof is in the pudding, All you have to do is look at anywhere that we’ve built these physical barriers such as San Diego, El Paso, and in Arizona, and when we’ve done that, illegal immigration and drugs – and that’s a very important part,” Judd said. “Drugs have gone down through those areas, exponentially. It allows us to dictate where illegal crossings will take place, rather than the criminal cartels dictating to us where they’re going to cross,” he said.

They want them underground because they can kill them in tunnels and nobody will know about it and this is exactly what they need to do. They need to extinguish these scumbags when they come in contact with them and just never mention it.

To anyone arguing the cost of the wall is a waste of government funds, I wonder how many more of these stories will it take to prove the wall paid for itself

Agreed

I’d like to imagine that we are now using regular ground penetrating radar sweeps along the border wall to detect tunnels.

A few conveniently timed cave-ins ought to be a deterrance

Should've been built in 1980.
There would've been no opposition and it would've been swift.
But let in two generations of illegals and it's political gridlock and opposition and California already lost.
The US should've never let it come to this. Giving illegals a voice to dictate American domestic policy.
