Lake D'Arbonne was beautiful and fun in the summer, but Farmerville was a terrible place to grow up in the 70's. I doubt having a chicken processing plant and a McDonalds makes it any better today. They don't even have Folly Beach anymore.

Farmerville is a nice little town and Lake D'Arbonne is about is good as it gets for fishing. Farmerville certainly has charm and the people in the surrounding area are generally good people. Like any small town in Louisiana, it has its issues. Because of the chicken plant and several chicken farms, you have a large population of migrant workers, but they're pretty good people too.
