Maybe I should have clarified. We have been friends/business associates for twenty years with about a ten year gap with no contact. We aren’t hang out and bbq together type friends though we have become closer friends the last few years which is why I wonder about this.

Even still, I feel like you should be able to ask him about it. Just make sure y’all are alone. I wouldn’t want to embarrass the guy about it
