That piece of property can not be cheap.
Pretty sure Scout owns the land and will develop it for commercial use. Chimes will sign a long term lease of 5-10+ yrs with monthly notes close to $35,000 per. That doesn’t include the building costs. If Chimes defaults on the lease agreement or doesn’t succeed Scout still owns the property and land.
My friend who brought Mellow Mushroom to Laffy lost his azz on that deal. They showed a profit for the first 4 months and everything thereafter was in the red. He was fortunate and got out of the lease agreement to the Judice family when Drago’s bought the building and took over the lease.

No offense intended, but I am 100% sure that you are incorrect. The Chimes group already owns the acreage tract. Just setting things straight

Agree.....Lafayette restaurant-goers are picky and local-loyal, but you might say that The Chimes is "close enough" being from BR.
There are alot of LSU alums here who have favorable memories of The Chimes. That's all well and good....but can The Chimes create an identity here like they did in BR. That's what it takes to make it here or anywhere long term.
Look no further than Judice Inn: a burger joint that never served french fries, in operation for 60-70 years.
La Fonda: mediocre tex-mex, good steaks, margaritas that are legendary, but its the place to see and be seen, among other things. Coronavirus can't kill this place.
I hope Chimes can make a similar impact.
What's going on at the old Posado's?
