Short recap; the swamp is deep and filled with rats.

Cliff notes: James Wolfe, Security Director for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence got caught emailing several reporters a top secret document from the SSCI (The Carter Page FISA application), and lying to investigators about it. (Like all good Washington stories these days, it a appears he was putting the wood to one of the young reporters. A quid pro-blow if you will.) His arrest and indictment remained secret, cough, cough, and he was allowed to plead guilty to one count of lying to investigators for which he received probation. There is more than speculation that this was all hushed up to protect a sitting senator who was involved with the leak. The DOJ prosecutor that handled that case (and also the case of the Awan brothers who too received curiously light sentencing for some rather bad behavior), Jessica Liu is up for a new job and will be appearing at a confirmation hearing Thursday. She will be under oath. And Kennedy will have the opportunity to ask some great questions.
