Fender Play has a three month free offer right now. No credit card required. Just three month access to Fender Play for free. I've looked over some of it, and it's pretty much beginner to intermediate. Lots of stuff on there. Some of the lessons aren't note for note and I haven't come across any transcribed solos. But for beginners, this is a great resource and you can't beat the price right now.
Click the link, get a code and sign up! (they say its for the first 500,000)

I feel like I have been trying to man things that are beyond my skill lately. Practicing too much songs and not enough basics so today, I did just that.
Mostly strumming practice for me today and it was very helpful. I think one of my things I was doing wrong was trying to hit all or most of the string on the upstrums. Today I practiced basic strumming and trying to stay in rhythm. I used my phone to set a pace and just stayed with it.
4 down strum per bar
8 down strums per bar
8 down strums and 8 upstrums per bar
Then I pulled some patterns from my notebook that my teacher had written down.
D, DU, U,D
D, DU, U,DU
And so on. I first did them just with the string muted. Then I tried it playing a chord. Then I played each pattern for 2 bars then changed chords for two bars doing the same patterns.
I need to be doing more of this. I am way more comfortable with strumming even after this simple excersise for an hour or so. Im still not completely comfy with how hard/strong to use the pick but its coming. Its not exactly smooth. LOL
