I had this thought yesterday when I was golfing in 65 degree weather.
Middle TN where I live had a Tornado Thursday snow Friday 65 Sunday.
When I was a kid it stayed cold Nov-Feb.

South Louisiana already had pretty mild winters but we have years where we rarely get below freezing now. Winters seemed like they were colder when I was a kid. I'll eventually just move further north

No it didn't. You only remember the cold times because that's what you associate with that period of time.
I remember vividly the big snows, ice storms, cold snaps, etc of my youth. I have no memory of the warmer days that my parents assured me happened with regularity.

Were you a kid 3 years ago? Because it was fricking freezing then. Ever heard of a “mild winter”? Crazy concept I know but they’ve been mentioned in literature for 300+ years
