I think I can get used to this more football year round thing. Go St. Louis BattleHawks!

Feels like the AAF was trying to be the NFL while XFL is just trying to be it's own thing. We will see where things go in the future though, but it's definitely been a fun first weekend.

It's got a month or so to stay hot. Once the NCAA tournament starts, interest will obviously wane.

Ive enjoyed it.

But I plan my day around watching LSU/Saints

No way I would plan around watching XFL

But its better than most anything else on TV this time of year

Unless Tiger is is the hunt in golf next few weeks

And once march madness starts XFL fuuuckkkkked

Take off? Dude they're averaging like 15-20 k on opening day. That's hardly "taking off". I just don't see it lasting more than a couple of seasons.

AAF was meant to try and dilute the talent that would have been available and to XFL and to take away interest from it as well.

The XFL has been in the works longer, is better prepared, better production and better financial backing. Most importantly its not tied to the NFL.

I like the fast pace, small number of teams and a ten week season. I can see the league sticking around as it becomes the cool league and not long boring, four hour, flag ridden, rigged boomer ball.

Yes they would. These are the washouts of the nfl. Most of them I haven't even heard of in college football. Other than them being more mature physically, they aren't on par with the talent that's for sure.

Week 1 of the original XFL was pretty huge, a lot of people tune in out of sheer curiosity at first.

Will it have legs is always the question.

The fan interest in the AAF seemed semi-ok, what killed that league was financial mismanagement. They saw they were losing a ton of money and pulled the plug, but losing a bunch of money the first few years is a given, so you have to wonder WTF they were ever thinking.

Crazy thought: I feel like one of these teams will be grandfathered into the NFL.

Nothing that has happened this weekend was anything different than the first week of XFLv1, AAF, etc.

It will get decent ratings to start like the rest of them, but it will take a cliff dive because the interest just isn't really there. The market keeps telling everyone that people actually need a break from football for a few months, but idiots keep on trying to make spring football a thing.

There were literally former NFL starters in the game that just ended.

I liked what I saw. I watched the 2 games today. I’d get really into it if they brought a team to Louisiana.
