Completely irrelevant. This is about the concentration of talent.
Those unranked players you speak of were spread over teams across the country at different levels.
This argument is not about the accuracy of recruiting rankings.

Football is a team sport. Those are generally more of the outliers. That’s 18 out of how many out of how players and many years? Remember, NFL isn’t just a 4/5 year program. There’s 10,15,20 year veterans. That’s such an astronomically small number. Even exponentially so then the 3,4,5 stars. Will some fall through the cracks? Be late bloomers? Get started late? Absolutely! Does a college team build a program off of them. Hell no!

That really has nothing to do with overall team rankings in college. On an individual basis basis, stats might not mean much, but when comparing team rankings the recruiting rankings fairly well match the end of year results.
