If you listened to Ed O's 2/5 press conference, it was clear that he wrote off Jordan Burch when he didn't sign for LSU at the signing ceremony.

Hence, the constant chatter subsequently that Ed O was in constant contact with Jordan Burch and his mother coming from the South Carlina side was I believe emanating from Jordan Burch and his mother extorting Will Muschamp and South Carlina for a payoff. Which probably came late yesterday afternoon.

There does seem to be a correlation between drama during recruiting process and under-performing expectations. Perriloux, Akers, Mack, Willis, the QB "with no chest," the DB that went to Tennessee, possibly Evans, etc. Probably has something to do with character somehow?
