I always find it hilarious that almost everytime someone gets its in shoulder or just to the left or right of the chest and its treated as just a flesh wound.

Any blow that causes loss of consciousness puts the individual at serious risk of brain damage.

Knocking a person out for a few moments is a Hollywood myth on its own. Anything more than a couple of seconds and the person will have brain damage, possibly die.
If a boxer was actually "knocked out" as in unconscious, and didn't get up immediately afterwards, they are rushing his arse to the hospital. No standing around and cheering while his brain hemorrhages.
