Sorry, facts show otherwise. Here is story.

Here is one quote...

Carter: If I was as talented as you, would I see a point in that six or seven months of being there?

Simmons: I think no. I think I would have learned a lot more being around professional athletes. Looking at it now, I don't really know what I learned, financially, or just being a person at LSU. I think I've learned a lot more this whole year in Philly, just being a pro, than I did at LSU.

Quote is pretty damned clear. Damn. What part of " Looking at it now, I don't really know what I learned, financially, or just being a person at LSU." don't you understand?

Use the other part of that quote...
quote:

I think I've learned a lot more this whole year in Philly, just being a pro, than I did at LSU.

He's saying that he didn't learn anything at LSU that he wouldn't have otherwise learned going straight to the NBA. His head coach was Johnny Jones. What do you think he could learn from him that he wouldn't have learned in the NBA as a rookie? He's also just answering questions that he was asked. Some on here act like he just came out and said he hated his time at LSU unsolicited.

The part where he said something bad about LSU

Anyone that has watched that interview or his documentary knows that his issue was with the NCAA and college basketball as a whole, not LSU.

eta: Even with the selective quoting, what's the problem? Would he really be the first person to learn more on the job than he did in a classroom?

Is there something wrong about saying you learn more being a NBA player than a 1 and done college player?

I don't take any of that as a slight against LSU. I think what he is saying is that it was all a huge waist of time. That he would have been better served going pro right out of high school.
