He will never be a guy that sits idly, regardless of how much success we have or how much money he is/isn't paid, as long as he's here. He will forever want LSU to be at the top of the food chain because his heart and soul are with Louisiana and LSU. It's a beautiful thing. I'd imagine it plays really well with recruits, too, that he is deeply, personally invested in this state and institution.

This is childish. If Orgeron had been hired by USC he would be working just as hard.
Saban is not from Alabama. Dabo did not go to Clemson. It’s a nice story that Orgeron is a coonass, but it’s not what drives him.
It’s important to stamp out this kind of thinking, because it is a program killer. It’s very difficult to hire the right person for a job. It’s 10 times harder once you start putting other requirements on it, like he has to be a Louisiana guy. And we are hearing this crap already from people who want to hire this former LSU ball player or that one.
Bama wandered in the desert for a couple of decades in part because a faction always wanted to hire a Bear Bryant disciple. That thinking is cancerous.
