In an ideal scenario young people could pay for cheap catastrophic type plans and maybe get some incentive to go to the doctor once a year for checkups. Pay for other things as needed.

What the leftists want is to force young people to pay for health care they won't use with the pinky promise that there will be money for them when they're old.

Which there won't be. See social security. We are having fewer and fewer kids to pay for more and more people. The math doesn't work.
