Will be staying two days in February with kids. Have business at the World Congress Center. Which is better midtown or something within a few blocks of Center?

Omni or Embassy Suites are both right there.

I’d stay at the Omni if it was just the wife and I.

Probably would do the Embassy Suites for more room with kids. - also I think the last time we stayed there Embassy Suites had free breakfast.

I guess it all depends on rates/other events and how you plan to get to WCC. Its on the east west line of marta, so you would have to transfer or walk at five points if you planed to take MARTA and plan to stay in midtown. The kids can have fun around either place. more within a closer walking distance near WCC. How old are the kids?

For most things, Midtown is better. It's more interesting and considerably nicer than most of downtown.

But for kids doing kid things (Aquarium, Coke, etc.) and MBS/GWCC stuff, you might as well stay down there. Everything in Midtown is a 5-10 minute Uber ride away anyway.

Westin - Peachtree Plaza: used to be the tallest hotel in the Western Hemisphere.
